How to compare ABA jobs before you apply.
Compare the role, location, expected paid hours and cancellation policy before comparing the headline rate. A familiar job title can hide a very different workweek.
1. Search by role and where you can work
Start with ABA job search for BT, RBT, BCBA and related roles. Check the service area for in-person work. For a remote ABA role, check the states where the employer can hire you and whether the job still requires travel or local client visits. “Remote” does not always mean work from anywhere.
2. Compare pay against the actual schedule
A posted hourly rate alone does not tell you weekly earnings. Ask how many hours are available, which are guaranteed, and whether training, notes, meetings, travel between clients or cancellations are paid. If pay is missing, ask the employer for the range and conditions. Try the RBT pay calculator to compare scenarios.
3. Clarify support and credentials
For direct-care roles, ask about training, clinical support, coverage for cancelled sessions and any required credential. For BCBA roles, clarify caseload, billable targets and time for assessments, treatment plans and supervision. If you are collecting fieldwork hours, get the arrangement in writing and confirm its eligibility with your supervisor and credentialing authority.
New to direct-care work? Compare BT and RBT requirements before assuming an opening accepts trainees.
4. Apply through the employer
Read the full listing and follow its employer application link. Find A Para does not collect your résumé through these listings or make hiring decisions. A listing may change after publication; confirm its current terms with the employer before accepting an offer.
