Which RBT offer pays more each week?
A higher hourly rate can produce a smaller paycheck when fewer hours are paid. Compare two offers using the hours you actually expect to be paid.
The starting figures are an illustration, not market pay estimates. Replace them with your offers. Enter only cancellations you expect to be unpaid; use zero if those scheduled hours are paid in full.
Formula: (scheduled hours − unpaid cancellation hours) × hourly rate + other weekly pay.
Before taxes and deductions. This comparison excludes overtime premiums, benefits, bonuses, travel costs and unpaid time off. It does not predict your schedule or decide which employer is the better fit. Your figures stay in this page and are not saved or included in shared links.
Ask before you count on the hours
- How many paid hours are guaranteed in writing, and when does that guarantee start?
- If a family cancels, am I paid, assigned other work, or sent home unpaid?
- Are documentation, training, meetings and travel between appointments paid? At which rates?
- What happens to my hours and benefits during school breaks or a change in cases?
- Who provides ongoing RBT supervision, and how is it scheduled?
Ask for the cancellation policy and pay terms in writing. For credential and supervision requirements, use the BACB’s current RBT resources.
