Which RBT offer pays more each week?

A higher hourly rate can produce a smaller paycheck when fewer hours are paid. Compare two offers using the hours you actually expect to be paid.

How is weekly RBT pay estimated?

Multiply the hourly rate by the hours you expect to be paid. For example, $25 per hour for 30 scheduled hours with 5 unpaid cancelled hours gives $625 in weekly gross pay: $25 × (30 − 5). These are example figures, not a job offer; taxes, benefits, overtime and different rates for nonbillable work are outside this simple comparison.

Ask before you count on the hours

  • How many paid hours are guaranteed in writing, and when does that guarantee start?
  • If a family cancels, am I paid, assigned other work, or sent home unpaid?
  • Are documentation, training, meetings and travel between appointments paid? At which rates?
  • What happens to my hours and benefits during school breaks or a change in cases?
  • Who provides ongoing RBT supervision, and how is it scheduled?
