How to compare BCBA jobs

Look behind the caseload number

Ask about the clients’ service needs, locations and planned service hours, as well as the number of technicians you would supervise. Clarify what happens when staffing changes or a client requires more support. Two roles with the same client count can involve very different workloads.

Separate billable targets from total working time

Ask which activities count toward the billable expectation and how documentation, supervision, assessments, team meetings and travel fit into the week. If compensation includes a bonus, request the conditions, calculation and payment timing in writing. Do not compare a base salary with a best-case bonus total as though they are equivalent.

Clarify the compensation structure

An annual salary and an hourly or per-service offer are not directly comparable without knowing the expected workload and paid time. Ask about benefits, time off, professional development, equipment and any reimbursement terms. Confirm which parts of the advertised range are fixed and which depend on experience or performance.

Check remote, hybrid and travel requirements

A remote label does not establish that you can work from any state. Ask where you and the clients must be located, whether onsite visits are required and what credentials or other eligibility the employer requires. Use the relevant official credential and licensing resources for your situation; a job-board listing does not confirm eligibility.

For current credential details, consult BACB certification information. Find A Para is independent of the BACB.

Common questions

Are remote BCBA jobs available?

Availability depends on the current published openings. Use the Remote or Hybrid work-setting filter, then confirm location restrictions, travel and onsite responsibilities directly with the employer.

What should I ask during a BCBA interview?

Ask for a typical weekly schedule, caseload and billable expectations, documentation time, supervision responsibilities and the process for getting clinical support. Request the compensation and workload terms for the actual opening.

Does Find A Para employ BCBAs?

No. Find A Para is an independent job board. Published openings link to the employer’s application page; the employer evaluates candidates and makes hiring decisions.
