How to compare ABA jobs in New York

Compare boroughs and towns, not a New York label

Start with the location in the individual posting. Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, Yonkers and Long Island describe different searches. Ask for the work site or service radius before comparing schedules. A New York mailing address does not mean the role is in Manhattan or available throughout the state.

Separate direct care from operations work

A recruiting, HR, billing or program-management job at an ABA provider is different from a technician or BCBA role. Use the role sections below to compare like-for-like openings. Check the individual requirements and work schedule rather than assuming an ABA employer requires clinical certification for every position.

Check the school-year and travel expectations

For school-related work, ask which site you would serve, whether the schedule follows the school year and what work is available during breaks. For home services, ask whether sessions are concentrated in one area and how travel between appointments is handled. Confirm whether the advertised hours are assigned now.
